Break it down

So Fort Erie Shaun tells me he was at the theatre watching Spiderman 3 Friday night and got his car broken into. Someone tried to steal the radio but only succeeded in tearing the dash to shit. Lesson learned, Shaun: Download your movies. I sat alone at 1 am Saturday night and watched the movie in the privacy of my own home. The only thing that was stolen was my heart by the stunning Mr. Tobey Maguire. ...

Tiny Bubbles

Terrible sleep last night. It turns out that going to bed with a gut full of spicy tuna and tempura batter is not conducive to a quality nap. What seemed like an imminent vomit awoke me from my slumber at about 3 am. I talked the food back down and we made an agreement that it could instead become toxic gas. It held up its end of the bargain and this morning I considered burning my underwear, the sheets and the house. Yikes! ...

Evil-natured robots

Alarm went off at 7:30 am and I snoozed ’till 9:30. There’s the behaviour of someone ready to die. Short day of work followed by food. All-you-can-eat Sushi at Real Sushi in St. Catharines. Ate enough food to render me partially blind. Three “green dragons,” 30 rolls, 1 plate of battered something and a bowl of ice cream. Oh, and I did something special. This is a possible indicator that Chris Hickey’s bang on with his theory that I have a dangerous eating problem. I was brought a plate of food that I didn’t order, that didn’t look appealing and that I wasn’t particularly interested in. I talked myself into it and devoured the whole thing. Chris: It’s time for you to intervene and cement my mouth shut as we discussed. ...

The Pursuit of Fattyness

Here’s a pretty good song: Your browser does not support the audio element. It’s from the first episode of Heroes that I rewatched a couple days ago. A catchy tune, though certainly a downer of a melody. Probably means it didn’t take long to write. I find it takes very little energy to be miserable. It’s pleasantness that’ll wear you out. Of course, you do feel better after venting some negativity. After I squeeze out a smile and a giggle all I want to do is watch you get your shoelace caught in an escalator. ...

I want you to hit me as hard as you can

Today I saw a dude riding his bike along the boulevard. He had a mullet and a full 24 case of Lucky Lager on the cross bar between his legs (it was a girl’s bike with no horizontal bar). He really was putting a lot of effort into it and you can imagine it was awkward. He was so concerned about the safety of the beer that he rarely lifted his head to see where he was steering. And yes, he did have a mustache. ...

KO

So tired. Three hours of sleep. Could have been 4 if not for the birds that chirped outside my window. Suppose it could have been 6 if I were better at managing time. Heck, it could have been 8 if I didn’t need a midnight BBC (big bacon classic). Behaved better today. My body saw fruit. And whole wheat. And only a smattering of Sour Nerds. Legs began to spasm around St. Catharines on the drive home. Punched them repeatedly to keep hope alive. Made it home. Celebrated with a banana and the paying of bills. Now to bed. I love you all. ...

Water

I dropped a “bomb” in the shower this morning and got a little light-headed, then nauseous. It was awesome. I got to work today, but only 3 hours late. I ate enough food in 12 hours to fit tightly in an average sized carry-on bag. I want someone to knock me unconscious with a kick to the back of my head so I can finally get some decent sleep. I’m very, very happy to be here. Thanks for inviting me. I’m sorry I knocked over your lamp. It was a pretty lamp. I’m not sorry I knocked over your wife. She was asking for it. ...

Werk

So back to work yesterday. Spent the whole day catching up on stuff that piled up while I was away. Managed to squeeze in some quality time with a slice of pizza, chocolate milk and a Mars bar. Got home and downloaded the new episode of Heroes that aired last night. Right now this is the only show I’m watching on TV and you should be too. If you check it out for no other reason, you should get a load of Hayden Panetierre (right). If I were 10 years younger and she were blind, I like to think we’d have a pretty good thing going. She turns 18 on August 21st and I think I’ll give her a call. Maybe she’d like to come over and spend a quiet evening eating BLT subs with extra mayo. ...

Lats, quads, delts...

Another day, another bike ride. Day started off late, then I sat around the house trying to convince myself NOT to eat everything in the fridge. Delicious bbq chicken for dinner, then off to the barn again. Kat tacked up Lucas and we went for another ride down the trail. I broke away from Kat to sprint ahead (the term sprint might be overstating things). Was a kilometre or so ahead of her when I passed a family going the other way. The young girl, probably only 2 or 3, seemed delighted to be able to greet a stranger. She said hello and I returned the same. At the last moment before we passed, I think she may’ve caught site of a nut as these shorts are notoriously baggy. If she did, there’s no recovering from that. ...

70 PSI

So we hit the road for a pretty nice little Saturday. No Home Depot or Bed, Bath and Beyond, but we did visit the metropolis of Ridgeway. Had to get my wedding band resized. Even though I officially put on 5 pounds last week in Vegas (and yes, I do recognize the femininity of my weight obsession problem), my ring is just too damn loose. And having the active lifestyle I do, I can’t risk it falling off while I’m watching TV, driving my car or sitting at my desk. ...
