Well, what’s new. My Knight Rider video is up to over 5,000 views on YouTube. That’s pretty cool. I hope to get a call from Hollywood any day now. Umm, let’s see. This site is now blocked by my company’s firewall. That’s a pretty big shame. Normally I’d kill 3-4 hours a day working on posts here but now I’ve gotta squeeze something half-assed like this in between walking the dogs and dropping a deuce. We all suffer, really.

I stopped on the way home at a grocery store in Burlington. Evidently pregnant women like hot dogs. As I was on my way out, an elderly woman held out a $10 bill to the cashier and asked for change so she could call a cab. The plump, teenaged cashier just stood there like a sack of Twinkies and stared at the woman and her money. Thankfully a customer interjected, “I have a cell phone if you want to use that.”

What a kind-hearted soul. I can’t think of the last time I did something good for a stranger. I mean, I definitely can think of many cases where I did bad things, or even worse, nothing at all. Like my first day at Woodbine. I was going up the escalator, a fresh-faced 22 year old, ready to take on the World. As I neared the top, a very old dude went to step on the down-side. I heard a loud gurgly moan come from him and he basically fell down the thing. He was within arms reach when he began to collapse, but I didn’t even try to reach out. Certainly that moan was all of his internal organs exploding, so it’s unlikely it was the fall that killed him. Nonetheless, I do recall muttering to myself, “Well this is off to a good start,” and with each passing day since a small part of me has died. Happy Friday!
