We’re the proud owners of a new piano. By new I mean real old. By real old, I mean it’s covered in dust, drywall spackling and scratches and one of the feet is busted up and being held together by electrical tape. I was told I should do something about the foot asap. No shit. I couldn’t help but stare down my smiling son and grinning wife and criticize the hell out of the piano and the decision of said wife to acquire it because, yeah, I need more shit to fix.

I really am a delight, trust me.

During my bitch sesh, I noticed a spider scurrying across the floor. It quite certainly came from the piano. I took a pic of the little fucker.

If you think I didn’t immediately launch into a rant about how the piano was full of poisonous spiders that were going to take over the house, well… I guess you haven’t quite figured me out yet, have you? Thought I was a nice guy? Oh, you’re looking for FortErieAdam. He’s terrific!

With picture in hand, I Googled “identify this spider” and came upon spiderid.com. If you post a picture they’ll identify it. It’s free, which I didn’t care for, but went ahead with it anyway. Within an hour, I got a reply:

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. ? This is a Triangulate Cobweb Weaver ( Steatoda triangulosa).

Cool. Wikipedia’d that and seems this is a harmless little guy. I should say was harmless because I flattened his ass into the deepest grooves of dining room tile before the aforementioned research results came in. I took no delight in it, but since my son hates even the slightest spider and he’s the piano man, it really needed to happen. Well, that and I took delight in it.

I’m the worst! Happy Tuesday!
