So a year ago and a day, this happened:

I left for work around 2 pm and it had started snowing. When I got home around 9:30 all hell had broken loose. That’s the willow tree at my Mom’s place. I spent a lot of time in that tree. One time I worked on a colouring contest for Easter as I was perched amongst its inviting limbs. A contest that I would end up winning. The prize? Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Did I go? Well, no. I’m not really a morning person.

But anywho, the willow tree had mostly come down. Thankfully my Mom’s car was there to break its fall. So this was 10 o’clock at night and it continued to snow like a mother fucker. Hey, wait a sec, the storm actually did (in a sense) fuck my mother. Interesting.

The next day I woke to this scene out my dining room window:

We had some downed trees and the power was out, but everyone was alive and well. We had to fire up the gas fireplace as the furnace had no power. Dodger didn’t mind as he’s all about getting his body as close to heat sources as possible:

So we waited and waited for the power to come back on. Two days later and it still hadn’t. But the weather was improving and my Uncle and cousins came over to rescue my Mom’s car:

She’s actually pregnant and wielding that chainsaw. What a little trooper.

Took almost a full week for the power to come back on. When it did, I couldn’t wait to say hello to the TV again. I asked it what it wanted and it said, “Chicken wings and pizza would be delightful.” So we ordered in and the TV and I just held each other.

Kat spent the entire next day pulling wing bones out of the TV speakers with a pair of pliers and cleaning up my piss and vomit from the attic. You see, I had yet again been drinking. Who feeds a TV food when they’re sober? No one. The answer is no one.
